This frightening horror LGBTQ+ novella went nowhere I expected and everywhere I didn't expect and took me upside down and inside out. Wow!! What seems like love to two men living in L.A. becomes a Nightmare from Hades for both, and not just them, when one of the lovers decides it's time to return home to rural small-town [small-minded?] Arizona, leaving Big City Lights in the truck's rear-view mirror. But LA's Luca and Arizona 's Jax both carry a truckload of ugly baggage, some dumped on them, some of their own invention. It's a Wild and Crazy Road Trip, and the nightmares are only commencing! • 3.0 out of 5 stars from Jay🦋 -- Decent but fell flat. : This one was alright! I did enjoy Keep My Soul Sealed Shut, but I think I wasn't sure what to expect; if that makes sense? The beginning was interesting and pulled me in, but it made me believe the story was going to go one direction, but then the middle was completely different and the end just made me feel kind of...meh. For me, it was a good novella that I'd probably read again at another point, but it wasn't a good horror in my opinion. Which makes me sad! I was really looking forward to a good and scary LBGTQ+ horror novella but it just fell flat for me. Average/decent story but just didn't grab me like I wish it had. Read it to find out if there is a supernatural force, or, are the boys not quite who we think they are ?? Patrick Kane’s writing is intense and descriptive, it keeps you guessing as it races along. • 4.0 out of 5 stars from Sara E -- Read. Read. Read. : Definitely wouldn’t have read the book based on the cover. The cover could use some more work. This is a super quick read since it is only 75 pages. I loved who the author wrote. It was really easy to visualize what was going on in the book. There were parts of the book that made me hold my breath and fill with anxiety. Book gave me an uneasy feeling, but that's what made me keep turning the page. I needed to read and find out more.
